EFTR® Practitioner Certification
Student Terms & Conditions

Effective: September 2026 · Liza Kimble Academy

01

About These Terms

These Student Terms & Conditions apply to enrolment in the Liza Kimble Academy EFTR® Practitioner Certification pathway. By enrolling, making the required payment or first instalment, accessing the Online Academy, or attending training, the student agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

The EFTR® Practitioner Certification is one progressive four-level, eight-module practitioner pathway. Individual levels may be purchased separately for payment flexibility, but they are not standalone EFTR® qualifications and do not confer practitioner status.

The Academy may issue programme information through the current prospectus, Academic Calendar, Online Academy and official student communications. Where dates, venues or administrative arrangements change, the most current Academy communication will apply, subject to applicable law.

02

Eligibility & Enrolment

  • Students must be 18 years or older.
  • A place is secured when the required upfront payment or first instalment has been successfully received.
  • Enrolment is personal to the named student and may not be transferred to another person.
  • Previous EFTR® training is reviewed individually. Any transition, credit or alternative pathway must be confirmed by the Academy in writing.
  • Late entry may be accepted where there is sufficient time to complete the required authorised recorded theory and online learning before the relevant practical begins. Once practical training for an intake has commenced, a late student will normally move to the next available intake.

The Academy may decline or discontinue an enrolment where participation would create a material safety, welfare, conduct or programme-integrity concern, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the case.

03

Programme Structure & Progression

  • Level 1 comprises Modules 1 and 2.
  • Level 2 comprises Modules 3 and 4.
  • Level 3 comprises Modules 5 and 6.
  • Level 4 comprises Modules 7 and 8.

Students progress sequentially through the pathway. Practical attendance is compulsory and cannot be replaced by recordings or online study.

The full training journey may take approximately 12 months to two years, depending on intake timing, practical scheduling, case-study completion, Equine Anatomy & Physiology requirements and individual student progression. This training flexibility applies regardless of whether the student pays upfront or uses an available payment plan.

04

Fees & Payment Options

Official UK and EU programme pricing is stated in US dollars. South African pricing and payment arrangements are managed separately.

Payment optionFee
Complete pathway, paid upfrontUS $8,700
Complete pathway, 12-month payment planUS $9,400 total
Level 1, upfront or over 3 monthsUS $2,200
Level 2, upfront or over 3 monthsUS $2,200
Level 3, upfront or over 3 monthsUS $2,450
Level 4, upfront or over 3 monthsUS $2,550

Displayed monthly instalment figures may be rounded to the nearest US dollar for communication purposes. Where rounding creates a small difference, the final instalment will be adjusted so that the exact contractual fee is paid.

The full fee for the relevant level must be paid in full before the student may attend that level's in-person practical training. This applies to students paying level by level and to students using the 12-month full-pathway payment plan.

Students remain responsible for ensuring that scheduled payments are successfully made. Any bank, card, PayPal, currency-conversion or other payment-provider charges imposed on the student are the student's responsibility unless the Academy states otherwise.

Community Member Discount

Active Equine Fascia Somatics Community members who have maintained membership for at least three consecutive months are eligible for a 15% discount on EFTR® Levels 3 and 4 when those levels are purchased individually.

  • The discount does not apply to Levels 1 or 2.
  • The discount does not apply to either complete-pathway payment option.
  • The discount may not be combined with promotional or transition pricing unless the Academy expressly confirms otherwise.
05

Payment Default

If an account reaches one month overdue, the student's access and progression may be formally suspended. During suspension the student may not continue unlocking course material or attend further practical training.

If an account reaches three months overdue, the enrolment may be cancelled. Reinstatement after cancellation is not automatic and will be considered individually by the Academy.

Suspension or cancellation for payment default does not create an entitlement to a refund of fees already paid, subject always to any non-excludable rights available to the student under applicable consumer law.

06

Cancellations, Transfers, Postponements & Refunds

Course fees are generally non-refundable, subject to applicable consumer law and any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If a student cannot attend a scheduled in-person practical and gives at least two weeks' notice, the Academy may transfer the student to a later available practical rather than issue a refund.

Where less than two weeks' notice is given because of a genuine emergency or exceptional circumstance, a transfer may still be approved at the Academy's discretion.

Requests to pause training or extend the normal completion period because of genuine life circumstances are considered individually. Approval is not automatic and may depend on programme scheduling, available cohorts, access periods and the student's academic and payment status.

Regional practicals require sufficient participant numbers. If minimum numbers are not reached, the Academy may postpone or move the practical to a later date. A postponement for insufficient participant numbers will normally result in the student's booking transferring to the replacement date rather than a refund.

If Liza Kimble or the Academy cancels training and is unable to provide the contracted training or a reasonable replacement arrangement, an appropriate refund may be offered, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.

The Academy is not responsible for a student's travel, accommodation, transport, meals or other consequential costs arising from a student cancellation, transfer or a change to training arrangements, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

07

Travel, Accommodation & Practical Costs

Students are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, transport and meals associated with in-person practical training.

Students should avoid making non-refundable travel or accommodation arrangements until the Academy has confirmed the relevant practical arrangements. Dates, venues and trainer availability may change where circumstances require.

08

Online Access, Recordings & Student Support

Each enrolled EFTR® level includes 12 months of access to its associated Online Academy learning material.

Authorised live online theory sessions may be recorded and made available to enrolled students within their normal access period. Recordings support learning and catch-up but do not replace compulsory in-person practical attendance.

Standard enrolment does not include a right to download Academy course videos, workbooks or other proprietary course material unless a specific item is expressly made available for download.

While actively enrolled, students may receive access to dedicated English or German student WhatsApp groups and selected Equine Fascia Somatics Community Zoom sessions and webinars. Student access to these resources does not constitute full Community membership and may be changed as the Academy's support structure develops.

09

Case Studies

Case studies form part of the student's progressive learning and competency development.

  • The current EFTR® requirement is 5 horses × 5 sessions per level, giving 25 case-study sessions per level and 100 sessions across the complete pathway.
  • Case-study sessions are student training sessions and may not be charged for.
  • Case studies are submitted in the format and through the process communicated by the Academy.
  • Liza Kimble reviews the submitted case-study work and provides feedback.
  • Completing the required number of sessions does not automatically mean that the work has been approved. Additional work may be required where the required competency has not yet been demonstrated.

The Academy may update administrative submission procedures, templates and deadlines without changing the underlying competency requirement.

10

Assessment & Certification

EFTR® certification is competency based. Payment, access to course material, attendance at training and completion of the numerical case-study requirement do not guarantee certification.

  • Online learning checks use quizzes with a 100% pass mark. Students may retake quizzes until the required score is achieved.
  • The Final Practitioner Assessment has an 80% pass mark. The Academy will confirm the final assessment format to enrolled students.
  • Equine Anatomy & Physiology (Ivana Lange's Anatomy in Layers) is required for certification and is purchased separately from the EFTR® programme fee. Enrolled students receive an Academy discount code, issued at the start of Level 2, discounting the course from its usual US $400 to US $200. Students are advised to complete and pass the course before finishing Level 3. A suitable existing qualification may be submitted for exemption review; exemption is not automatic.
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology is not an EFTR® certification requirement.

Certification is awarded only after all four levels, all eight modules, required theory, compulsory practical training, Equine A&P or an accepted exemption, approved case studies, the Final Practitioner Assessment and all required competency standards have been successfully completed.

Until certification has formally been awarded, the student must describe themselves as an EFTR® student and may not represent themselves as a Certified EFTR® Practitioner.

11

Student Practice Before Certification

Students may use authorised case-study work only within the boundaries of their training and the Academy's instructions. They may not charge for EFTR® case-study sessions.

Before full certification, students may not advertise, market or represent themselves as EFTR® Practitioners, Certified EFTR® Practitioners, official Academy representatives or authorised EFTR® teachers.

Completion of an individual level does not create a professional EFTR® qualification or independent permission to teach EFTR®.

12

Intellectual Property & Course Material

The Academy makes a clear distinction between learning EFTR® and acquiring ownership of Liza Kimble's teaching material. Enrolment and certification grant only the rights expressly associated with the student's learning and, after certification, the right to accurately describe their practitioner status. They do not transfer ownership, reproduction, publishing, teaching or commercial rights in Academy materials.

Course manuals, lesson text, diagrams, presentations, videos, recordings, forms, teaching content and other proprietary material remain the intellectual property of the relevant rights holder within the Liza Kimble Academy and/or its authorised digital delivery structure.

  • One enrolment is for one individual. Login or account sharing is strictly prohibited.
  • Course videos may not be downloaded, copied, screen-recorded, reproduced, redistributed or shared unless the Academy has expressly authorised that use.
  • Course notes and materials may not be copied or distributed to colleagues, clients, friends or other third parties.
  • Students and practitioners may not repurpose Academy teaching materials as their own teaching or client materials. Where the Academy provides an authorised template, such as a case-study form, it may be used only for its intended purpose.
  • Paid or proprietary Academy material may not be uploaded, pasted or otherwise supplied to ChatGPT or other generative AI systems.
  • Photographs or video taken by students during practical demonstrations are for personal learning and reference only unless separate permission to publish or distribute them has been granted.

The Academy may photograph or record appropriate training activity for educational or marketing use subject to appropriate consent and privacy arrangements.

13

Student Conduct, Safety & Horse Welfare

Students are expected to behave respectfully and professionally in all Academy learning environments, including practical training, online sessions, student groups and communications with trainers, staff and other students.

Horse welfare and human safety take priority during EFTR® practical training. Students must follow the appointed trainer's safety and welfare instructions. A trainer may intervene in, modify or stop an activity where the trainer reasonably believes that horse welfare or human safety may be compromised.

The appointed trainer is responsible for the practical learning environment and delivery during an Academy practical. Concerns or formal disagreements regarding a trainer should be referred to the Academy. Complaints concerning the Academy or Liza Kimble should be directed to the Academy office.

Serious or repeated unsafe, abusive, disruptive, discriminatory, harassing or professionally inappropriate conduct may result in removal from a session, suspension or termination of enrolment, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.

14

Professional Scope, Local Law & Insurance

EFTR® Practitioner Certification is a competency-based certification awarded by the Liza Kimble Academy. It is not a government or statutory licence to practise.

EFTR® training does not qualify a practitioner as a veterinarian, veterinary physiotherapist, physiotherapist, chiropractor, massage therapist, medical practitioner or other regulated healthcare professional, and does not provide medical or veterinary diagnostic authority.

Certified EFTR® Practitioners must work within the legal scope applicable in the country or jurisdiction in which they practise. Practitioners may not diagnose medical or veterinary conditions unless they independently hold the appropriate professional qualification and legal authority to do so.

Where a condition falls outside the practitioner's legal or professional scope, the horse or human should be referred to an appropriately qualified veterinary, medical or other regulated professional.

It is the individual practitioner's responsibility to understand and comply with the laws, regulations, insurance requirements and professional requirements applicable in their own country or jurisdiction. Certified practitioners must maintain appropriate professional insurance.

15

Practitioner Title, Branding & Representation

Only a person who has successfully completed the full certification requirements and has been formally certified may use the title Certified EFTR® Practitioner.

Certification does not grant permission to use Liza Kimble Academy logos, EFTR® logos or other Academy branding in a way that suggests the practitioner's independent business is an official Academy branch, training provider or representative.

Practitioners may accurately state their certification. They may not misrepresent EFTR®, Liza Kimble, the Academy, the scope of their certification or their authority to teach Academy material.

16

Community Membership & Ongoing Practitioner Status

Following certification, Certified EFTR® Practitioners are required to remain active members of the Equine Fascia Somatics Community in order to remain active, current and listed within the Academy practitioner framework.

If Community membership lapses, a three-month grace period applies. If membership has not been reinstated by the end of that period, the practitioner's Academy directory listing may be suspended until the membership requirement is satisfied again.

Suspension of a directory listing because of lapsed Community membership does not erase an EFTR® qualification that has already been earned.

Certified EFTR® Practitioners are required to complete an Academy EFTR® refresher every two years. The Academy will communicate the format, scheduling and applicable rate.

17

Changes to Dates, Venues, Trainers & Delivery

The Academy may make reasonable changes to dates, venues, trainers, delivery arrangements or administrative processes where required by participant numbers, trainer availability, travel, safety, welfare, force majeure or other circumstances outside normal control.

Where a material change affects a student's booked practical, the Academy will communicate the revised arrangements as soon as reasonably possible and will seek to provide an appropriate alternative within the programme structure.

18

Communications

Students are responsible for providing accurate contact details and for monitoring the email address and official student communication channels used for Academy notices.

Administrative questions, enrolment matters and formal notices should be directed to registrations@lizakimble.com.

19

Privacy & Records

The Academy processes student information for enrolment, payment administration, programme delivery, student support, assessment, certification, record keeping and related legitimate Academy purposes. Any separate Privacy Policy published by the Academy forms part of the wider student information framework.

Students should not share confidential personal information about other students, clients, horse owners or case-study participants in Academy groups or submissions except where necessary for the approved training process and with appropriate permission.

A final published version of these Terms should be read together with the Academy Privacy Policy and any consent forms applicable to photographs, recordings or case-study information.

20

General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions should continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

A delay by the Academy in enforcing a term does not automatically amount to a waiver of that term.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict a student's statutory consumer rights where those rights cannot legally be excluded.

21

Student Acknowledgement

By enrolling in the EFTR® Practitioner Certification, the student confirms that they have read and understood these Student Terms & Conditions, understand that EFTR® is a progressive competency-based practitioner pathway, and agree to comply with the programme, payment, conduct, safety, intellectual-property and professional-scope requirements described above.
